What is a Slot Machine?
Slot Machines 🎰 (also known as Poker Machines or 'Pokies') were originally mechanical coin-operated games commonly found in pubs and bars going back as far as the late 1800s. They featured spinning reels which were each labelled with a series of symbols, and rewarded the player with a coin payout when certain desired combinations of symbols were reached.
Over time, Slot Machines have become more sophisticated, largely being replaced by electronic video-based alternatives, leaving traditional mechanical Slot Machines to become sought after vintage antiques.

How is a slot machine played?​
- A Coin is inserted into the Slot of the machine, and the Lever is pulled to begin a Play.
- The three Reels spin for a set time, then each Reel stops sequentially from left to right.
- The three Symbols that are visible once all Reels have stopped determines the Result.
- If the Result matches one of the Winning Combinations on the Pay Table, the number of Coins specified by that Winning Combination are dispensed and collected.
